Interview with Teri Riggs, Author of "The Eyes of Vengeance"

Today we are joined in a interview with Teri Riggs, Author of "The Eyes Die Last", "Resolutions" and her latest novel "The Eyes of Vengeance".

Teri, when did you first discover that you were a writer?

TR: Probably about twelve years ago when I started writing. I never really felt like one until I saw my first e-book go live.

What is your favorite part of writing?
Teri Riggs,
Author of "The Eyes of Vengeance"

TR:  Dreaming up my characters and getting to know them.

What do you think is the most challenging aspect of writing?

TR: Staying on track with the storyline. My characters have a tendency to pull me in other directions once we get on a roll!

Tell us about your latest release.

TR:  The Eyes of Vengeance is the second book in the Kennedy O'Brien Mystery series. Kennedy is on the trail of a killer who is murdering members of The Consortium, a now defunct group of ruthless Vegas businessmen. Nick Campenelli is back and Kennedy still hasn't decided if she is, or isn't, in a relationship with the hunky businessman.

How did you come up with the title of your book?

TR: The killer in this book is seeking revenge against The Consortium for a past wrong they committed.

Who are some of your favorite authors?

TR: JD Robb. Karin Slaughter. Lisa Jackson. And there are so many more! I love romantic suspense and mysteries and the authors who write them.

What do you think has influenced your writing style the most?

TR:  I'd say the shows I watch and the books read. I have a tendency to write strong female leads, which are usually the heroine types I watch and read.

As a writer what is the accomplishment that you are most proud of?

TR:  Pushing past all the rejections. No matter how many I received, I kept going. Trust me...I received a lot!

How did you get published?

TR:  I had the winning bids for a few editor critiques from Brenda Novak's Auction for Juvenile Diabetes. The editors liked my work and offered me contracts.

Do you have any advice for writers looking to get published?

TR:  Never give up!! No matter what!!!!!
